WHO 60th World Health Assembly
The World Health Assembly is the supreme decision-making body of the World Health Organization. It meets in Geneva in May each year, and is attended by delegations from the 193 Member States. The main function of the Health Assembly is to determine the policies of the Organization.
The discussion of oral health at the World Health Assembly 2007 was magnificent manifestation of oral health which has not taken place since 25 years ago.
Japan and other member states expressed interest and supported the document titled "WHO Oral health: action plan for promotion and integrated disease prevention", which have accepted significant policy and advocacy tool for improving oral health worldwide.
Delegation from the World Dental Federation (FDI) and International Association for Dental Research (IADR) also participated in the proceeding of the World Health Assembly and expressed support for the WHO Global Oral health programme.
