My name is Lay Thant and I am from Myanmar. I am the first grade international student in Niigata University, Division of Orthodontics. It was my great honor to join the Division in April, 2017. From the start of the semester, the lecturers from the Division provide different classes, including wire bending classes, cephalometric X-ray tracing classes and Typodont classes. I am also getting the opportunity to study the clinical works of my supervisor, Fukui Sensei, by assisting him in the clinic. With the help of teachers and seniors, I could also learn the laboratory works such as making retainers and lingual arch. As I am very much interested in treatment planning, I am also very happy to attend and learn the case presentations at the staff meeting of the Division of Orthodontics on every Thursday. At first I had some difficulties in understanding the presentations as the cases are presenting in Japanese but I am also so grateful that I got so much helps from teachers and seniors to help me with my language difficulties. I am looking forward and excited to learn more and more about the knowledge and skills of Orthodontics during my study. |
